Dubai is accelerating its transition to electric mobility with a major upgrade to its EV infrastructure. The city is set to introduce 200 ultra-fast chargers, marking a significant step toward meeting the growing demand for efficient and convenient EV charging. The rollout, scheduled to begin in October 2025, will dramatically reduce charging times. Phased Deployment Across Dubai
The project will be implemented in phases to ensure smooth coverage and accessibility:
- Phase 1: Installation of 20 ultra-fast chargers at high-traffic areas, including retail districts, residential neighborhoods, and leisure destinations.
- Phase 2: Expansion to 200 chargers within a year, extending access to both public and private spaces across Dubai.
This staged approach guarantees that EV drivers will have reliable access to charging points wherever they go, supporting the city’s growing fleet of electric vehicles.
Leveraging Existing Infrastructure
Parkin, Dubai’s leading parking solutions provider, is spearheading the rollout. By integrating chargers into its 212,000 paid parking spaces, the company is creating a seamless “park and charge” experience for EV users. Drivers will be able to reserve charging bays, monitor charging progress in real-time, and make secure payments through the Parkin mobile app. Strict usage rules will ensure that bays are available exclusively for active charging, maximizing efficiency and fairness.
The technology behind the service is powered by charge&go, supported by global operator e&, which manages operations in 38 countries and reported Dh59.2 billion in revenue in 2024. This collaboration brings both expertise and scale to Dubai’s EV infrastructure.
